Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia would not mind Sweden and Finland joining NATO, but warned they would respond to any "threat".
"There is nothing stopping us Sweden and Finland from joining NATO. If you want to join, please. It's just that we need to understand clearly and accurately - despite no threat before, with the deployment of military contingents and military infrastructure, we need Respond symmetrically and make the same threats in areas that threaten us," Putin told a news conference on Wednesday after the Caspian summit in Turkmenistan.
Sweden and Finland are poised to formally end decades of neutrality and join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), a historic breakthrough in an alliance that has dealt a blow to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The last major hurdle for the two countries to join the European Union was removed when Turkey dropped its opposition on Tuesday.
The breakthrough came during the NATO summit in Madrid, which has become one of the most important in the history of the NATO military alliance.

Big mistake by Sweden and Finland, as they will be giving up their souls and sovereignty to the NATO War making machine owned by no other than the USA.
ReplyDeleteI can just assume that you were high when you made this comment. It just shows you know nothing about how NATO works and protects countries form people like Putin. He would not dare to attack NATO.
