Manchester City 'want Serge Gnabry as Raheem Sterling replacement'

Manchester City are reportedly ready to sign Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry if Raheem Sterling leaves this summer.

The Germany international scored 14 goals in 34 league games last season, helping his team to a 10th consecutive Bundesliga title.

Gnabry, whose current contract expires next year, has reportedly turned down an offer from Bayern, who want to keep the 26-year-old.

However, in the absence of a new deal, Bayern are reportedly prepared to sack Gnabry in the current transfer window rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer.

Manchester City are also interested in signing Gnabry to replace Sterling if the Englishman leaves the club this summer, according to The Sun.

The Citizens would have to meet the reported £35m asking price and fight off competition from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool who have all been linked with Gnabry.

The former Arsenal player scored 64 goals in 171 appearances for Bayern, winning four league titles and a Champions League trophy during his time at the club.
