Up to 8,000 people remain in Severodonetsk as conditions deteriorate, Ukrainian official says

There are still about 7,000 to 8,000 people in the eastern city of Severo Donetsk, but in the near future they will live without in "terrible conditions" of water, gas or electricity.

Russian troops have destroyed the material base of housing and utilities in this key city in the Donbas region, and they are looking for personnel to help with recovery, but according to Struk, there are few workers in Severo Donetsk.

Many utility and city workers had previously been evacuated, Striuk said.

He added that the Russian army, which now occupies the city, is working to organize the Ministry of Education so that children can go back to school from September 1.
