Ukrainian president touts "modern artillery" after forces hit another Russian ammo depot

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky touted the achievements of "modern artillery" donated by the West after Ukraine's armed forces attacked another Russian ammunition depot on Tuesday.

"The occupiers already know very well what modern artillery is, and they have no secure backing anywhere in our occupied land," Zelensky said in his night speech. "They feel our scouts are orders of magnitude stronger than any of their 'special operations' in defending the homeland."

"Russian soldiers - we know this from eavesdropping on their conversations - are frankly afraid of our armed forces," he added.

Zelensky's comments came after an explosion in the town of Novikahovka in Ukraine's Kherson region on Monday night. Video posted to social media showed a huge explosion and a huge fireball lighting up the night sky.

"In Novi Kakhovka minus the Russian ammunition depot. They bring, bring, store, store, and now there are fireworks at night," Ukrainian official and member of the Kherson regional council, Shersh Kran, said on Facebook.

In recent weeks, Ukraine used the HIMARS multiple launch missile system donated by the United States and other Western-made weapons to attack Russian ammunition depots deep in Moscow-controlled areas.
