THE PAIN OF THE GIRL CHILD

 This piece of writing titled "THE PAIN OF THE GIRL CHILD" is centered on exposing the ill treatment, discrimination and injustice meted out to the female child/gender by the society and parents. The society believes that no matter the level she attains in education, it will end in a man's kitchen and 'the other room'. So, it's useless and a waste of resources giving her quality education...

I'm a girl child, 

Found myself in a society that places little or no value on my gender

 My male brother is treated as Lord of lords and King of Kings.     

I am branded a second class citizen and must remain under.  

Chai! Did I choose my gender and clime? Is it my fault? Is it not the same God that formed us? 

Each day that passes by I weep my eyes out 😭  

as I watch my brothers beautifully dressed in their well ironed uniform preparing for school

In my mind, I definitely pray for the day to taste such happiness... 

If I scream so hard and loud

the earth will hear but ignore my voice and will rather laugh at me. 

The droplet of tears that fall from my eyes on daily basis are gradually forming a mighty ocean for I am rejected by the society... 

Oh! my darling parents, 

why do you look at me with so much pain and frustration in your veins, You believe that I am only a baby factory. 

The pain I face as the girl child in Africa is beyond words... 

Dear pen fighter, 

help tell the world of my pains,  

Tell African continent, tell my parents, 

that I am as important and valuable as my dear male brother. Both of us are from the same God who didn't give us the option of choosing our respective genders....
